Lunch with Nathan

Julia and I went to Nathan's school and got to eat lunch with him. Here are our visitor tags.

Then we went outside for recess.

Nathan's Birthday

Nathan, Julia and a couple of Nathan's friends went to the movie with Joe.

I put a few squeenkies (little bitty rubber toys) in some of the balloons. Julia had fun trying to pop those.

He got lots of Transformers, a new bike, scooter, Clone Wars DVD, a beta fish, light brite lego car and an Angy Bird's Star Wars Coloring book.

Big six years old today.

Justin's Homecoming

It doesn't matter what time the kids go to bed they get up before the sun. Nathan looked out the front door and saw this beautiful sunrise and wanted me to get a picture of it.

With Mom and Dad in Albuquerque they crawl into my bed in the morning. Very sweet and satisfying.

We made this banner yesterday to welcome home Justin, Dad and Mom. Emily did the embellishments on the Welcome sign and Nathan and Julia drew a picture of a parade with giant Justin balloons complete with belly button and diaper.

Just after 7pm they rang the doorbell and the house went wild.

They took turns holding their new brother. Julia first...

and finally Emily.

There was quite a crowd to watch his first diaper change and his first bottle at home.

It is absolutely wonderful to have the family together again. A sweet couple brought in dinner tonight.

Day at the Park

We needed to get out of the house. There is a nice park really close to Katie and Joe's house. Megan and Justin Allen came with us.

We also did a little bubble blowing.

Movie Night

Justin had another spell after getting some immunizations and so we are all disappointed that he is not coming home today. They are planning on sending him home on Sunday with a monitor,'

So the kids and I had the traditional Hakes Family Movie Night.

They loved the movies but they sure miss their Mom and Dad.

Valentine's Day

My sweetie pie and I are apart for this Valentine's Day. I was surprised when I checked out the door today to see if Julia was home from preschool to find these lovely, very thoughtful roses on the door step.

Last night we made Valentines for Nathan and Julia's teachers.
